Hotel Manager Johannes Mayr

New hotel manager at the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost: With the addition of the Austrian-born Johannes Mayr, the management team, including Gerhard Struger, General Manager and Regional Vice President at Sofitel Central Europe, is now complete.

In his new position, Mayr assumes responsibility for Hotel Operations, which includes F&B, front office, and housekeeping, from December 2017 onwards.

“We are pleased to welcome Johannes Mayr to our management team,” said General Manager Gerhard Struger. “With his many years of experience in the international high-end luxury hotel sector, he will contribute valuable know-how and will be a versatile asset to our team and the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost.”

Mayr has been working in the upmarket hotel business since 1996, most recently as hotel manager for the well-known The Westin Grand Munich. Other milestones in his career include his stints at the Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan, the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, Hotel Adlon Kempinski and Hilton Berlin, the Hotel Plaza Athenee New York, the Millennium Hotel and Resort Stuttgart, and the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa Edinburgh. Before that, he completed a four-year training course in Hotel and Tourism Management at the renowned hotel school in Bad Gleichenberg.
